Building Muscle Made Easy

Despite the title, building muscle isn’t easy, but with the right guidance, it can be easier than most people think.

If your goal is to build lean muscle, there are a few things you need to consider before diving hitting the weight room.

YOU NEED A PLAN TO BUILD MUSCLE

If you want to see gains in muscle mass, you need to start with a plan.

How many days per week will you dedicate to the gym?

How long will each session last?

Are your workouts organized ahead of time?

Are you following a progression that increases volume and intensity over time?

These are all things that we consider when programming for our functional bodybuilding class, BUILD.

We layout a clear plan that is easy to follow and one that we know will get client’s results if they show up consistently.

FIND A TRAINING PARTNER(S)

We all need someone to push our limits and hold us accountable. Sometimes you have no other choice than to work out by yourself, but having a consistent training partner or group of people who share similar goals is ideal.

These people will motivate you to get to the gym when you’re feeling tired, push you to get that extra rep and celebrate all of your wins along the way.

One of the main reasons our clients are so successful at Arsenal is because they are surrounded by an amazing group of like-minded people who help support and keep them motivated.

COUNT YOUR CALORIES

I’m not the biggest fan of counting calories long-term, but if you want to put on muscle, you need to know how much food you consume each day.

Most people, when they are trying to put on muscle, aren’t eating enough.

Not giving your body the nutrients it needs to grow leads to a lack of progress and frustration.

It’s best to plan your caloric intake the night before. There are plenty of resources out there that can give you the appropriate ratios of protein, carbohydrates, and fat you need to be consuming. Then, once you have those numbers enter your meals and snacks into My Fitness Pal to help guarantee you are giving your body exactly what it needs the next day.
