Andrew O’Connor: Staying Positive and Focused

“Before starting CrossFit I had been working out at a regular gym unmotivated and going nowhere. Was tired of struggling through workouts that I was getting through various apps. Someone had mentioned CrossFit, I knew nothing of it, and started Googling videos and locations near me. I came across Arsenal Strength and checked out the website, instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it.

I had met with Brooks DiFiore for my onboarding interview, I was intimidated seeing everybody throwing weights around, doing pull ups and just moving through their WOD. I just remember seeing people come and go from one class starting and one ending and they were happy.

The sense of community. Everybody here is energetic, encouraging and caring. It’s a great way for me to end my day. I get here after a bad day, long week, or whatever is going on and within 5 minutes you’ve left it at the door and are focused on your WOD while cheering on others.

i have learned so much! Mainly I’ve learned to step out of my comfort zone. Nobody is here to judge, make fun of you, or whatever. I’ve learned to stay positive, focused, and I love getting my ass beat daily and coming back for more. “
